## Overview

This page shows how to connect each supported AI client to the GoDaddy MCP server. Claude and ChatGPT have official GoDaddy listings, which are the fastest way to connect. Other clients connect by URL. For how to add a server in a specific client, go to that client's documentation, linked in each section.

Clients that connect by URL use the same settings:

| Setting        | Value                     |
| -------------- | ------------------------- |
| Server URL     | `https://mcp.godaddy.com` |
| Transport      | Streamable HTTP           |
| Authentication | None                      |

Use the URL exactly as shown, with no path. Many client guides tell you to add `/mcp` to a server URL, but `https://mcp.godaddy.com/mcp` returns a `404`.

Go to [GoDaddy MCP server](https://developer.godaddy.com/docs/api-users/mcp) for what the server does and which tools it exposes.

## Connect Claude

Claude, Claude Desktop, and Claude Duet use the GoDaddy connector. Claude Code adds the server by URL.

**(Recommended) GoDaddy connector**

The GoDaddy connector works in Claude, Claude Desktop, and [Claude Duet](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/17631495-get-started-with-claude-duet). Claude Duet uses the connectors you've already added in Claude, so you only add it once.

Go to the [GoDaddy connector](https://claude.com/marketplace/connectors/godaddy) in the Claude directory to add it.

**Custom connector**

Add the server as a custom connector with these values:

| Field                 | Value                                                |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| Name                  | *GoDaddy*                                            |
| Remote MCP server URL | *[https://mcp.godaddy.com](https://mcp.godaddy.com)* |

Go to Anthropic's [Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) for the steps for your Claude plan.

**Claude Code**

Add the server with this command:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http godaddy https://mcp.godaddy.com
```

Go to Anthropic's [Connect Claude Code to tools via MCP](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcp) for scope options and how to check that the server is connected.

## Connect ChatGPT, Codex, and Dots

ChatGPT, Codex, and Dots use the GoDaddy plugin. You can also add the server by URL.

**(Recommended) GoDaddy plugin**

The GoDaddy plugin works in ChatGPT, Codex (including the Codex CLI), and Dots.

Go to the [GoDaddy plugin](https://openai.com/business/plugins/godaddy/) page to add it.

**Custom MCP server**

Add the server as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT on the web with these values:

| Field          | Value                                                |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| Name           | *GoDaddy*                                            |
| Server URL     | *[https://mcp.godaddy.com](https://mcp.godaddy.com)* |
| Authentication | **No authentication**                                |

Go to OpenAI's [Add custom MCP server](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server) for the steps.

**Codex and ChatGPT desktop app**

The Codex CLI, the Codex IDE extension, and the ChatGPT desktop app share one MCP configuration. Add this table to `~/.codex/config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.godaddy]
url = "https://mcp.godaddy.com"
```

Go to OpenAI's [Model Context Protocol](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/extend/mcp) guide for project-scoped configuration and how to add the server from the app settings instead.

## Connect Cursor

Add the server to `.cursor/mcp.json` in your project, or to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` for every project:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "godaddy": {
      "url": "https://mcp.godaddy.com"
    }
  }
}
```

Go to Cursor's [Model Context Protocol](https://cursor.com/docs/mcp) documentation for how Cursor loads and manages servers.

## Connect VS Code with GitHub Copilot

Add the server to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your workspace:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "godaddy": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.godaddy.com"
    }
  }
}
```

Go to VS Code's [MCP configuration reference](https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/agents/reference/mcp-configuration) for user-level configuration and the other ways to add a server.

## Connect another MCP client

Any client that supports the streamable HTTP transport can connect with the settings in the [Overview](#overview). Config key names vary by client. For example, Cursor uses `mcpServers` and VS Code uses `servers`. Check your client's documentation for its format.
