October 8, 2026: The Domains API now has a dedicated Domain Valuation API and guide
View as MarkdownYou can now get a machine-learned GoValue estimate for a domain through a new Domain Valuation API. Each estimate includes a suggested Afternic list price, a wholesale value, a price range, and yearly sales probabilities.
What changed
A new endpoint is available:
GET /v1/domains/govalues— returns a GoValue valuation for a domain passed in thedomainNamequery parameter.
The valuation uses a static model, so a domain's GoValue doesn't change between requests and the response can be cached. All monetary values are returned in USD. Domain valuation is a separate concept from registration pricing — it estimates resale value, not what you'd pay to register or renew the domain.
Access requires an active GoValue subscription on the account behind your credentials, in addition to the domains.domain:read scope. Calling without a subscription, or for an unsupported TLD, returns 404 VALUATION_NOT_FOUND or 422 UNSUPPORTED_TLD.
Who is affected
Developers who want to price domains before listing them, inform buy or sell decisions, or show GoValue estimates in their own product. This is a new, separate capability — no existing Domains endpoint is affected, and using it requires subscribing to GoValue.
